Trust Our Electrical Team With All Of Your Service Needs
RTR Electric was founded in 2018 and has been serving Birmingham, Jefferson County, Shelby County, and other surrounding areas since then. We have completed multiple projects, including rewiring houses, replacing electrical services and equipment in older homes and commercial properties, installing whole-home generators, and testing the electrical installations of conductors when struck by lightning. Through these projects and more, we have gained the trust of our local communities.
We are committed to excellence in our endeavors at RTR Electric.
As we continue to grow as a company, we will continue to follow this path.
Our goal is to be an electrical company that is honest and trustworthy, delivering work that meets code standards and is done correctly. We strive not to over-sell or suggest services that you do not need. We will never try to sell you anything that we would not personally use in our own homes or recommend to our families.
A Message from Our Owner, Tom Goodwin
Hi I’m Tom Goodwin owner and operator of RTR ELECTRIC, LLC. I started my electrical career in 2007 at the age of 19 and honestly, when I first started my career, I did not enjoy doing electrical work. I was talking to God one night about it, and I felt like he told me that if I wanted to quit, I could but if I stuck with that, one day, he would bless me. And now that I have been in my career for 17 years, I have thought several times about that. This must be the blessing God told me about. But the blessings just keep coming. Since I started my career I have worked at multiple companies and headed up multiple projects from building hotels, hospitals, upgrading the electrical at UAB School of dentistry and installing multiple generators for cable companies and dozens of more projects. I passed my masters electrical exam and started RTR Electric LLC In November of 2018 and did it part time while I worked for another electrical company until I got laid off in 2019 during Covid and decided to start working for myself full-time. Thus the blessing of God continues on with my life with my company.
